The US will help create a new geological map of Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a press briefing Thursday, responding to a question regarding the document signed during US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's short visit to Yerevan recently, which concerns the mining and processing of critical minerals and rare earths.
According to Pashinyan, the aforesaid sector has changed significantly in recent years, and those minerals that were of purely geological interest 40-50 years ago are now gaining enormous importance in the economy, artificial intelligence, and space technology.
“Now they don’t always drill the subsoil. They scan the layers of the soil with the help of space technologies. In essence, it is about the creation of a new geological map of Armenia with the assistance of the US," the premier explained
