In the event of Armenia's exit from the EAEU, requirements currently applied to migrants from CIS countries will be extended to migrants from Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a press conference.

"This means that to work in Russia, they will need to purchase work permits.

This means that to gain access to the Compulsory Health Insurance (OMS), one must reside in Russia for at least 5 years. And so on.

There are a great deal of requirements there. It is a completely different story. Everyone simply needs to speak about this clearly, explicitly, and honestly.

We will have to revert to restoring a permit-based system for Armenian road transport operators. This is inevitable. This is a separate, highly complex area of cooperation.

And, of course, we will have to transition from domestic Russian railway freight tariffs (which are currently applied) to increased tariff levels set for CIS countries.

And, naturally, this means an increase in energy prices.

Preferences such as those enjoyed today will, of course, no longer be on the table," the Russian President said.
