The Iranian military has damaged at least 20 American military facilities since the start of the conflict with the United States and Israel in February, reports the BBC, whose reporters have studied satellite photos and video footage.

The BBC notes that Iran has struck American facilities in eight countries in the Middle East. These facilities were located in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, and Oman.

Some analysts believe that the strikes hit 28 American facilities in these countries. In particular, Iran damaged three batteries of the THAAD missile defense system located at air bases in the UAE and Jordan. In addition, Tehran has caused serious damage to American refueling and reconnaissance aircraft in Saudi Arabia.

As the BBC notes, it is difficult to assess the true scale of damage to US facilities. As of May, the US Department of War—the Pentagon—claimed that the total cost of military operations against Iran would be $29 billion. Moreover, a significant part of this amount will be spent on repairing or replacing equipment destroyed during the conflict. The US Congress reported that 42 aircraft, including F-35 and F-15 fighters as well as MQ-9 Reaper drones, were damaged or completely destroyed during the fighting.
