US President Donald Trump has sent Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev a memorandum on extending the suspension of US sanctions on Azerbaijan.

The published document contains the US president’s personal signature in the margin, as well as the following handwritten note: “Ilham – you are great!”

In turn, Aliyev posted a note of gratitude on social media regarding the aforesaid memorandum.

According to the document, the US president is suspending Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, adopted by Congress in 1992, which prohibits the provision of any direct US government assistance to Azerbaijan due to its blockade of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
