Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wants to continue making use of the privileges of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), making money at the expense of Russia and other countries of the union, until Armenia is called to the European Union, according to deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev,.

Medvedev compared Pashinyan’s response to the call for a referendum on Armenia’s staying at the EAEU or membership in the EU to Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky’s famous slogan, “Neither war nor peace, but disband the army.”

“Literally, we [i.e. Armenia] will not decide anything by referendum until we are called to the EU. And then, naturally, we will run to Europe. But until then, we will make use of all the privileges of the EAEU, skillfully making money at the expense of Russia and other countries of the union. Very well, of course," deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council wrote on X.
