The groundless optimization of schools in Armenia will be completely stopped. Former Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan, who is the chairman and prime ministerial candidate of the Wings of Unity party in the parliamentary election on June 7, announced this during their election campaign meeting with the residents of Kapan city.

Tatoyan noted that the most optimizations will be in Syunik Province.

Also, he touched upon the topic of closing down the school in the village of Davit Bek.

“The school in Davit Bek has historical significance, [statesman] Aram Manukyan attended here. We should not close this school, but build a museum next to it so that everyone can come, see, admire [it],” Tatoyan said.

The Wings of Unity party’s PM candidate finds the authorities’ approach, saying that the population is small and the school should be closed down, unacceptable. Arman Tatoyan said that he is very familiar with the area, and taking their children to the neighboring village of Artsvanik will really create many difficulties for the parents.

“There are few children, make such programs so that they come [here], live more. Closing a school is the same as intentionally emptying a village. The resident of Davit Bek is right: ‘If a child is taken to the Artsvanik school, it is better for me to go to Kapan or live in Artsvanik.’ As a result, what do we have? The village of Davit Bek will be empty,” noted the candidate for prime minister of the Wings of Unity party.
