Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: According to our information, open campaigning [for Sunday’s parliamentary election] has begun in the Armed Forces in favor of the incumbent authorities.

The commanders of the military units, or the military personnel performing this duty have been appointed as campaigning apostles, who, according to our source, have been carrying out “educational,” “enlightening” work with the army, especially in recent days.

First, they give long speeches before the army, saying that in the June 7 elections they must elect the force they consider worthy, and in the end they consider it necessary to impose their authoritative opinion on the army, that, suppose, the commander himself will personally elect these authorities, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, because he considers them worthy, because they have done this and that for the army.

We had written that more than 200 servicemen have been dismissed from the Armed Forces in recent months, as a result of “intelligence” work revealing that they have non-governmental views. They were unexpectedly informed that they do not consider it advisable for them to continue serving.

In this atmosphere, it is difficult to imagine a serviceman who would go against the will of the leadership.
