If we are accused of spoiling relations with Russia, then, excuse me, before us, relations were so brilliant that Russia sold Azerbaijan $5 billion worth of weapons? Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party MP candidate, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday stated this during a parliamentary election debate on Public Television.
"When they say that the Upper Lars checkpoint [on the border between Russia and Georgia] is being closed [for Armenia], there is a need to take into account that it was periodically closed for various goods [from] until 2018 [when the incumbent Armenian authorities came to power]. So there is nothing new in this. Calm down," Mirzoyan noted.
He added that the development of Armenia’s relations with Russia under the current Armenian authorities is evidenced by the indicators of trade and the intensity of contacts between the two countries at various levels last year.
