The measures taken by Russia regarding imports from Armenia are a normal work process, it is necessary to inspect new products, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

“We [i.e. Russia] are not introducing any restrictions on Armenian imports at all. Ordinary, normal work is underway, related to the fact that a new harvest has now been received, new products have entered the [Russian] market, and it is natural that some problems arise during the work,” Overchuk told RIA Novosti news agency on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“This always happens periodically. It is a normal work process for us,” he added.
