Fruit and vegetable exporters of Armenia will receive full reimbursement from the government for import customs duties to the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, and Canada. The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet session of the Armenian government.

Presenting the draft decision, Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan recalled that the government has been providing this reimbursement since February 2025, but until now it only applied to the processing industry. But from now on, Armenia’s exporters of fresh fruit and vegetables will also benefit from the support program.

The deputy minister clarified that this decision does not cancel another support program adopted today, which provides support to Armenia’s greenhouse tomato, pepper, strawberry, and flower producers to enter alternative markets, taking into account the recent restrictions imposed by Russia.

For his part, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that the possibility of granting privileges to Armenia’s producers in terms of customs duties was currently being discussed with the EU.
