Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei called the strike on a school in Minab and a residential area in Lamerd a clear war crime and said that Tehran intends to use all international and legal mechanisms to bring those responsible to justice, Mehr reports.

Speaking at a memorial ceremony for children killed as a result of the war, Baghaei said that the killing of children was a deliberate element of the aggression.  According to him, during two armed conflicts over the past year, schools, hospitals and other facilities that international law classifies as protected zones came under attack.

The Foreign Ministry representative stressed that both military commanders and political leaders involved in planning, ordering and carrying out the attacks must be held accountable.

He added that Iran has already submitted the relevant materials and documents to the UN, human rights organizations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Baghaei also said that the residential area in Lamerd, including a sports hall, was hit by four American precision-guided missiles. According to him, 24 people were killed, including a two-year-old girl and several teenage volleyball players, and more than 130 others were injured.

According to the Iranian side, the missiles exploded in the air and dispersed more than 180,000 tungsten fragments at high speed.
