Voting in the regular elections to the National Assembly has ended in Armenia. At this moment, polling stations are closing across the country, and the process of counting the results is beginning.

At 21:00, the Central Election Commission will publish the final voter turnout figure. Around midnight, the publication of results will begin online.

NEWS.am will provide live coverage of the vote count from several polling stations in the capital and the regions.

Today, June 7, parliamentary elections were held in Armenia, in which 18 political forces are taking part — 2 blocs and 16 parties. A total of 2,485,851 citizens are eligible to vote.

Armenia's parliament is elected under a proportional system, that is, only by party lists. Eighteen political forces — 16 parties and 2 party blocs — are competing for seats in the 9th convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia. The threshold for entering parliament is 4% for parties and 8% for party blocs. Notably, invalid ballots, including deliberately spoiled ones, are not taken into account when summing up the election results: 100% of the ballots used to calculate the percentage indicators of the electoral competitors is taken to be the sum of the valid ballots cast for all political forces, and inaccuracies.
