Iran, Iraq, and Syria closed part of their airspace after Tehran launched missiles toward Israel in response to its latest attack on Lebanon, Middle East Eye reports.

Iran closed the airspace over the west of the country after launching the barrage.

“In connection with security assessments... the western part of the country's airspace was declared closed until further notice,” said Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, in a statement carried by IRNA.

Iraq also temporarily closed its airspace and suspended air navigation, while civil aviation officials cited flight safety following the attacks. Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority said the ban would remain in effect for 72 hours.

Syria also closed its southern airspace for 12 hours and suspended operations at Damascus airport.
