The leader of the "Civil Contract" party, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, hurried to declare victory for the party he leads, even though the Central Electoral Commission had not yet managed to process 20 percent of the ballots.
Nikol Pashinyan also noted that "Civil Contract" would form the government independently.
In his speech, he stated: "Thank you, dear colleagues from the media. On June 7, 2026, regular elections to the National Assembly took place, and based on the election results, the 'Civil Contract' party won. The 'Civil Contract' party will form the government on its own. I thank all citizens of the Republic of Armenia who, first and foremost, participated in the elections and cast their ballots of their free will. I want to emphasize that compared to 2021, 'Civil Contract' received the votes of a larger number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, a greater number of votes of confidence from our citizens. This creates a binding responsibility and means that the citizen of the Republic of Armenia has stood up in defense of the state, stood up in defense of independence, stood up in defense of the future, and stood up in defense of peace. This means that in the 20-26 elections, the citizen of the Republic of Armenia voted for number 16. Dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia, I love you all, I am proud of all of you, and I bow before all of you. Glory to the fallen, and long live the Republic of Armenia."
