The situation in the South Caucasus requires close attention, this was stated at a meeting of the committee on CIS issues of the Scientific and Expert Council under the Security Council of Russia.

As reported by the press service of the Russian Security Council apparatus, the meeting considered the issue of developing relations with the states of the South Caucasus.

Opening the Committee meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Alexey Shevtsov emphasized that the current situation in the South Caucasus requires close attention and that, in order to resolve regional problems, it is necessary to find and use regional solutions.

Under the chairmanship of MGIMO University Rector Anatoly Torkunov, the Committee members analyzed the possibilities for further developing bilateral relations with the republics of the South Caucasus, taking into account the growing turbulence of geopolitical processes in the world.
