A total of 39,650 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia (RA). Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan on Tuesday announced this during the discussion of the annual report on the implementation of the 2025 state budget of Armenia at a joint meeting of the country’s parliamentary standing committees.

"Since January 1 of this year, an increase is observed in the number of applications for citizenship of the Republic of Armenia from persons displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. In particular, as of the beginning of June of this year, their number amounted to 11,146. The number of minors displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh amounted to 28 thousand, of which about 12 thousand have already received RA citizenship," Mkrtchyan said.

About 120,000 Armenians were forcibly relocated to Armenia as a result of Azerbaijan's military attack on Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023.
