The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) conducts monthly monitoring of products entering the Russian market from Armenia, Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergey Dankvert has told TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“We [i.e. the Rosselkhoznadzor] are now conducting monthly monitoring of products entering the Russian market. We monitor and analyze. If there is an increase in violations recorded for any product within a month, our colleagues begin negotiations,” Dankvert said, answering a question about supplies from Armenia to Russia.

Starting from May 30, Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions on the import of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green crops, and strawberries from Armenia to Russia. Starting from June 2, similar restrictions have been introduced on the supply of cherries, sour cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, nectarines, and grapes. And starting from June 3, the import of pome fruits, eggplants, potatoes, and dried fruits from Armenia to Russia has been restricted.
