The third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, is convinced that the Prosperous Armenia Party will receive parliamentary mandates based on the results of the recount of the ballots that were cast in the National Assembly (parliament) elections on June 7. The politician shared this conviction while speaking with members of the media.

Responding to the question regarding the accusations that he was elected for a third term, and now Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is doing the same, Sargsyan said that he was not elected for a third term, as he was president twice and prime minister once, whereas the statements about three terms are the propaganda theories of the incumbent Armenian authorities.

Also, the former president does not think that this claim is applicable to Pashinyan, since the first two parliamentary elections were snap elections.

The former ruling Republican Party of Armenia, led by Serzh Sargsyan, did not run in the recent parliamentary elections.
