The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran on Thursday reported that it had struck 18 targets at US military bases in the region. “The fighters of the Aerospace Forces, as well as the IRGC Navy, struck 18 important US military targets at the Ali Al Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber airbases, as well as the Sheikh Isa airbase, in two waves of the operation, hitting and destroying them,” the post published on the Telegram channel said.
According to the IRGC statement, the strikes were carried out in response to the actions of the US military against a number of IRGC corps units, coastal bases, police facilities, and the Bandar Abbas airport area.
The Mehr News Agency had reported on the Telegram channel on the same day that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in the wake of the resumption of US strikes, had entered the first phase of an offensive operation. It was noted that both missiles and drones were used in the operation.
