The Armenian government adopted a decision at its Cabinet meeting today, according to which it will send humanitarian aid to Lebanon via Turkey.

As per the decision, Armenia’s Margara checkpoint on the Turkish border will reopen from June 12 to 22 for the transportation of humanitarian cargo.

This checkpoint is not in operation and the current legal regulations do not allow the passage of people, cargo, and vehicles through this border point.

As stated in the document, the decision was made to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents of Lebanon, including the local Armenian community, affected by Israeli attacks.

Last year, Turkey had temporarily reopened the aforementioned border checkpoint to deliver humanitarian cargo from Armenia to Syria.
