US President Donald Trump has agreed that one option for resolving Iran’s nuclear issue could be to “dilute” its highly enriched uranium domestically under the supervision of UN inspectors, a senior source in Washington said, Axios reports Earlier, the US had insisted that all highly enriched material be removed from Iran.
Any concrete steps on Iran’s nuclear program would be taken within the framework of an agreement that could be reached after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran. On Thursday, Trump said that the memorandum could be signed as early as the weekend.
The memorandum provides for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without charging fees and the restoration of pre-war shipping amount within 30 days.
