Investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings. The proceedings are related to the well-known case of espionage and high treason.
Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed about this by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, referring to the search of the apartment of Aregnaz Manukyan, who is on the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) electoral list and is a member of the opposition Mother Armenia party, early this morning.
Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that early this morning, officers from the Investigative Committee arrived at the home of Aregnaz Manukyan, to search. Manukyan, who showed the incident live, demanded the Investigative
Committee officers to first introduce themselves and show the respective search warrant. "We have a court order to conduct a search at your apartment, you are now obstructing our operation, turn off your [smart]phone," said the Investigative Committee officer and introduced himself as an employee of the Investigative Committee, surnamed Gevorgyan.
Seeing that Aregnaz Manukyan did not turn off her smartphone and demanded to show the search warrant, the officer of the Investigative Committee ordered: "Take the [smart]phone away from her hand!" Finally, the MP candidate was forced to turn off her smartphone so that it won't be taken from her hands.
To note Andranik Tevanyan, the second number on the PAP electoral list and the chairman of the Mother Armenia party, is under arrest on "high treason" charges.
