Israel demands US to abandon unfreezing of Iranian assets as part of a possible agreement to end the war, according to a source familiar with the discussions between the parties, CNN reports.

As per this source, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holds talks with US President Donald Trump on a regular basis.

One of such conversations took place on Thursday evening, after Trump announced that Israel was among the countries in the Middle East that support a possible agreement with Iran.

Later, Netanyahu's office issued a statement, according to which the US president allegedly confirmed his commitment to several key conditions of the future deal. These include the withdrawal of Iran's enriched uranium, dismantling of Iran's nuclear program, limiting the country's missile capabilities, and ending support for allied armed groups in the region.

On Friday, Netanyahu reiterated Israel's tough stance on Iran's nuclear program. As long as he is Israeli prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons, he said.

According to CNN's source, Israel remains extremely skeptical of the negotiations between Washington and Tehran and believes that Iran is not conducting them in good faith. Also, Jerusalem believes that even the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran does not necessarily lead to a full final agreement.
