Armenian National Assembly (parliament) speaker Alen Simonyan has come up with three new legislative initiatives. He informed that the current NA will have time vote on his and his colleagues' three initiatives in the coming days or by special vote.

Simonyan said that the first law initiative concerns vote buying. According to him, the respective penalty in Armenia will be toughened: the current up to 7 years in prison for receiving, and 8 years for giving electoral bribes, will be toughened and set at 9 years and 10 years in prison, respectively.

The second legislative initiative will make it mandatory to place Armenia's national flag at the entrances to all settlements.

And the third law initiative, according to Simonyan, is historic and important. "An amendment will be made in the Constitutional Law on Regulations will be amended, the text of the oath of MPs will be changed. It will become much more in line with today's reality, today's real state, our legislation, as well as the text will be about things that are characteristic of the Armenian people and are important for the Armenian people," the parliament speaker said.
