Israel is not bound by the agreement between the US and Iran and will continue military operations in the countries of the region. Israeli minister of science and member of the cabinet for security affairs, Gila Gamliel, announced this on Channel 7.

“We [i.e. Israel] are not a party to the agreement, and from our perspective, we will continue until we achieve the goal of disarming Hezbollah,” Gamliel said.

According to her, Israel intends to maintain control over part of the territory of Lebanon and will not allow the return of residents to areas that are under the control of the Israeli army.

Gamliel stated that Israeli forces are deeply entrenched in Lebanon and do not intend to withdraw troops from the areas that extend to the Litani River and the Beaufort Castle area, where, according to her, the Israeli army maintains complete freedom of action.

At the same time, Gamliel noted that Israel will not allow the return of the population to these areas until Hezbollah disarms, considering this necessary for the security of the northern regions of the country.

In addition, Gamliel stated that US President Donald Trump is allegedly buying time, linking this to international events and the US domestic political agenda.
