The restoration of full shipping through the Strait of Hormuz after the signing of the agreement between the US and Iran could take from several weeks to a month Jotaro Tamura, chief executive of Mitsui OSK Lines, the world's largest tanker operator, told this to the Financial Times.

According to Tamura, shipping companies are in no hurry to return to normal operations in the Strait of Hormuz and will wait for guarantees that the agreements reached really guarantee safe passage through the strait.

It would be reasonable to assume that this will take at least several weeks, if not a whole month, Tamura added.

Hundreds of ships still remain in the Strait of Hormuz area, waiting for the opportunity to safely pass through the strait.
