Iranian tankers have begun exporting crude oil for the first time in two months after Washington and Tehran announced a framework agreement that, among other things, provides for the lifting of the US blockade of Iranian ports, CNN reported.

Iranian tankers have already successfully exported two batches of oil, TankerTrackers, an analytical company that monitors maritime transport, reported.

According to the company's data which are confirmed by satellite images, at least two National Iranian Tanker Company supertankers, carrying 3.8 million barrels of crude oil, have crossed the US naval blockade line.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz was reopened in accordance with the terms of the agreed memorandum, but later changed the timeframe, announcing that the strait would reopen after the official signing of the document on Friday in Switzerland.
