The development of cooperation between Iran’s Chabahar Port and Pakistan’s Gwadar Port could open new trade routes for the countries of the South Caucasus, including Armenia, and strengthen Iran’s position as an important bridge connecting South Asia with Eurasian markets, reports the Pars Today news agency.

According to the source, transport and logistics specialists believe that the cooperative approach between Chabahar and Gwadar creates an opportunity to develop a large-scale logistics network stretching from the shores of the Indian Ocean to Iran’s Norduz border crossing into Armenia and the latter’s market.

Pars Today notes that in recent years, Armenia has become one of Iran’s important trade partners, and the development of these transport corridors could bring significant benefits to both countries.

The intensification of the Chabahar-Norduz route will not only contribute to the growth of trade between Iran and Armenia, but also strengthen the latter's role as a transit hub in the trade system connecting the Persian Gulf, the South Caucasus, and the Eurasian markets.

According to experts, such projects can create additional opportunities for the Armenian economy.
