Hraparak daily of Armenia writes s follows, in particular: These [Armenian] authorities are very proud of the project of the American company Firebird AI—the construction of a data processing center (DPC) for artificial intelligence systems in Hrazdan, which is accompanied by the supply of graphics processors.
According to our information, this project not only gives reason to be proud, but is also under special observation by the [Armenian] law enforcement agencies. According to the information we have received, the NSS [i.e. the National Security Service of Armenia] has submitted a report to the Office of the Security Council, where it is noted that since April 2026, Matthew Crowe, senior advisor for defense affairs of the US Embassy in Armenia, has visited the data processing center being built in Hrazdan four times.
The first time he was accompanied by [Armenia’s] deputy minister of high-tech industry, Gevorg Meliksetyan. Later, Matthew Crowe visited the center with other employees of the US Embassy who do not hold diplomatic positions. Within the framework of Matthew Crowe's last two visits, two trucks with some equipment, which were placed in special anti-strike boxes, also entered the center's territory. Such oversight is usually carried out by special services if it is about a defense facility.
