Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: According to some information, in the event of a rise in the price of Russian [natural] gas [in Armenia], [Azerbaijani president] Ilham Aliyev, who has become [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan’s friend and ally, has promised to supply alternative [natural] gas to Armenia, not to leave his younger friend alone.

The scheme, according to our source, will be as follows: Azerbaijan will buy [natural] gas from Russia and provide it to Armenia at a relatively cheap price. But our sources are silent about how this will be implemented, the technical details; they only assume that Aliyev will probably subsidize the [natural] gas price reduction.

Our source says that in this context, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have also become tense, since the RF [i.e. the Russian Federation] authorities treat such a transit deal badly.

The RA authorities will gladly replace Russian influence with Turkish-Azerbaijani. Let us note that the [Armenian] authorities and close-authorities circles do not even hide the fact that the alternative in the matter of [natural] gas imports could be Azerbaijan.
