The Turkish authorities are ready to normalize relations with Armenia if the necessary conditions are created for this. Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan stated this to the Turkiye daily following his visit to Russia on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“[Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan’s government has taken very important steps [in terms of normalization of relations with Turkey]. Many important steps have been taken at the behest of our President [Recep Tayyip Erdogan], including the establishment of direct trade and air communication [with Armenia].

And what needs to be done in the new phase is also clear. We [i.e. Turkey] are ready for normalization [of relations with Armenia] when the necessary conditions are created for this,” the Turkish foreign minister noted.
