Enriched uranium will not be taken out from Iran, foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei on Thursday announced on Iranian state-run IRIB television.
“We [i.e. Iran] have said from the very beginning that enriched materials will not be taken out from the country. One of the options is to deplete them in the territory Iran; this is not a new option,” Baghaei said.
He made this statement shortly after the signing of a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities between Iran and the US. This should be followed by additional negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of US sanctions on Iran.
