Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denied the view that the Armenian authorities are allegedly preparing for new elections.

Reporters at the press briefing Thursday asked Pashinyan whether Armenia's drafts on the electoral censure and toughening the penalties for vote buying indicate preparations for snap elections, to which the premier responded: "Of course we are not preparing."

According to him, the problem is that before the parliamentary elections on June 7, the Armenian public had clearly expressed dissatisfaction with the situation in these issues.

"But I was fundamentally against making changes before the elections and had promised to take steps after the elections. This is being done as soon as possible so that people do not have questions about why nothing is being done," added the Armenian prime minister.
