At least 12 strong earthquakes, with a magnitude of up to 6.7, have struck off the coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula in the past hour and a half, according to the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Kamchatka branch’s Telegram channel said the strong tremors began at 06:51 UTC.
All the earthquakes occurred in the Pacific Ocean, about 150-180 kilometers from Russia’s Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city.
