The agenda for the adoption of the new constitution of Armenia will not be postponed. Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Civil Contract party of Armenia, stated this during Friday’s press briefing in the National Assembly, answering the question of whether the initiatives that assume the presence of a constitutional majority can be suspended, or whether the ruling force will try to find other legal ways to implement them.

“Nothing will be suspended. We will continue to move forward in accordance with our agenda,” Hovhannisyan said.

According to him, certain difficulties have arisen, but the ruling force in Armenia will continue to work towards the implementation of its programmatic objectives.

According to him, the adoption of the new constitution of Armenia has been on the agenda of the Civil Contract party since 2019.

“We will not deviate from our agenda and will find legal solutions for this. I assure you that there are both legal and political solutions for this," Artur Hovhannisyan said, and added that these solutions will become more evident after the formation of the new makeup of the National Assembly of Armenia.
