Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon will immediately lead to serious consequences, and Iran will take all measures to protect its allies, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said.

“The [Iranian] Foreign Ministry spokesman strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s [i.e. Israel’s] aggressive and terrorist actions against various regions of Lebanon, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Lebanese, as well as the destruction of citizens’ homes and the country’s infrastructure,” the Iranian MFA statement said.

Also, he warned of serious consequences of Israel’s actions in terms of peace and security in the region.

The US bears full responsibility for the continuation of Israeli aggression in Lebanon, in accordance with the previously signed US-Iranian memorandum on the settlement of the conflict, Baghaei noted.

“The [Iranian] Foreign Ministry spokesman attributed direct responsibility for the current situation to the US and, making a reference to Article 1 of the June 18, 2026 memorandum on the cessation of war, which directly provides for the cessation of the war in Lebanon as an integral part of the agreement to end the war on all fronts, stressed that Iran will take all necessary measures to protect its interests, security, rights, and the rights of its allies,” the Iranian MFA statement added.
