Russia is convinced that the resumption of work by Armenia in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) would be in the interests of the country, and the CSTO remains the guarantor of regional stability, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Maria Zakharova told RIA Novosti.

“We [i.e. Russia] remain convinced that the resumption of full-fledged work in the CSTO would, first of all, correspond to Armenia’s interests. The organization remains an effective—and, in fact, without an alternative—mechanism for maintaining regional stability,” Zakharova said.
