"Calls for peace must imply a real and just peace. However, what they are trying to sell in Washington today under the guise of a 'peace agreement' is actually the consolidation of Azerbaijan's crimes, the legitimation of the last war, and a green light for the next one." Aram Hamparian, Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), stated this at a press conference on Capitol Hill.

The head of the ANCA emphasized that the forced false peace locks in Baku's territorial gains, denies refugees the right to return to their homes safely, and effectively locks a free people out of their historic homeland. Moreover, such a scenario rewards the aggressor with American taxpayer money. "Mark my words: Azerbaijan's new war will be funded at the expense of American resources, contrary to U.S. interests, leading to the loss of even more land," Hamparian warned.

He particularly highlighted that a core part of Baku's aggressive policy is the systematic destruction of Christian holy sites and cultural-historical heritage in the occupied territories. In his words, real peace is not built on concessions to a dictatorship but requires concrete steps to hold Azerbaijan accountable, starting right here in Washington.

Aram Hamparian called on the U.S. government to immediately deploy harsh levers of pressure: ensure the full enforcement of Section 907, introduce direct sanctions against the Baku regime, and demand the immediate release of the Armenian prisoners who have been unlawfully held hostage for 1,000 days.

"Justice, human rights, and freedom are the true building blocks from which a real and lasting peace must be constructed. And we will not back down from this fight," concluded the Executive Director of the ANCA.
