Armenian Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan participated in the OPEC Fund Development Forum 2026, the main goal of which is to define strategic directions for sustainable development and innovative financing, as well as discuss current global challenges and development opportunities, the Ministry of Finance of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Within the framework of the forum, Minister Hovhannisyan had bilateral meetings with the president of the OPEC Fund for International Development, Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, as well as the vice presidents for the public and private sectors of the OPEC Fund and several other high-ranking officials.
During the bilateral discussions, an 80 million euro budget support loan agreement for the Armenia Economic Transformation Program was signed between Armenia and the OPEC Fund for International Development.
The program aims to contribute to Armenia's economic transformation by improving its business and investment environment, promoting investment and trade, as well as ensuring greener, more inclusive, and resilient development.
