Russia hopes that Yerevan will ultimately make a choice in favor staying in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), since this integration process is significantly more profitable than Armenia's possible membership in the European Union, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, TASS reports.

"We [i.e. Russia] are convinced that this [EAEU] integration process provides a significant percentage of Armenia's GDP growth on an annual basis. And we are convinced that in all its qualitative characteristics, our integration process significantly surpasses other alternatives. We hope that, first of all, the Armenian people, as well as the current leadership of Armenia, will come to the same point of view as a result of analyzing the situation," Peskov noted.
