Just a day after the adoption of a joint resolution prohibiting the US President from using military force in military action against Iran, the US Senate rejected another similar initiative. This move by the Republican majority in the Senate was lauded by President Donald Trump.

According to the final results of the vote, 47 senators voted for the initiative, 50 against, with Republican Senator Rand Paul abstaining.

The media noted that the Senate thus stopped criticizing the president's actions. This happened after Trump harshly criticized senators, including four Republicans who voted for the previous resolution.

Trump, commenting on the results of the vote, also noted the change in position of Rand Paul and Senator Bill Cassidy and thanked the Republicans. “This vote puts Iran on notice!” the US president wrote on Truth Social.

According to CNN, the vote held on Wednesday was the eleventh time since the beginning of the year when the Senate has addressed the issue of the use of military power in Iran.

It is reported that earlier, the US Senate, by a vote of 50 to 48, adopted a resolution calling on Trump to stop the use of American forces in military operations against Iran. After that, the US President stated that this decision was untimely and pointless, and the senators who voted for the initiative thus helped Washington's opponents and weakened the US position in talks with Tehran.
