The second meeting of the security and defense consultations between Armenia and the European Union (EU) was held, the Armenian foreign ministry informs.

During the consultations, a wide range of matters on the expansion and deepening of cooperation between Armenia and the EU in security and defense sectors were discussed.

In particular, the parties touched upon the reforms in the security sector in Armenia, the ongoing cooperation within the framework of the European Peace Facility, the activities of the EU mission in Armenia, the prospects for establishing cooperation between respective educational institutions of Armenia and the European Security and Defence College, as well as some other matters of mutual interest.

They exchanged views also on cooperation between Armenia and the EU in countering hybrid threats, paying particular attention to the development of the capabilities of relevant organizations in Armenia.

During the meeting, topical matters related to regional security were also touched upon.
