Chief of Staff of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), General Rodolphe Haykal, met with the commander US Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, and a US military delegation in Yarzeh town, south of Beirut, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The parties discussed recent developments in Lebanon and the broader context of the situation in the Middle East, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' armed forces.

Haykal expressed gratitude for the support provided to the US, stressing the need for continued coordination aimed at maintaining security and stability in Lebanon.

The meeting was held amid the implementation of the framework agreement signed in Washington, which provides for a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon in conjunction with the disarmament of Hezbollah.
