The Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia has resumed the hearing in open session on the petition of several political forces to invalidate the results of the National Assembly (parliament) elections on June 7.

As reported by CC president Arman Dilanyan, out of more than two dozen petitions submitted Monday, only one was granted—but only partially. It was the petition by the opposition Strong Armenia party to attach sociologist Mkhitaryan’s conclusion to the case.

The petition to conduct an examination of the envelopes was denied, but the matter of their transparency will be examined at the CC session.

Secretary of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia, Armen Smbatyan, informed that five envelopes each were brought—from 27 territorial commissions and 5 envelopes from the CEC. To check the transparency of these envelopes, it was decided to use a simple method: placing the ballot in the envelope and seeing if it is visible or not.
