A communication channel for crisis management has been opened between Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the US Central Command, an anonymous White House official claims, The Wall Street Journal reports.

In an attempt to reduce tensions, the US has taken steps to establish a communication channel between Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the US Central Command for crisis management. The White House representative announced that the conflict prevention channel is open and is already being used by both sides, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Esmail Baghaei on Tuesday had said that as a result of talks in Switzerland, Iran and the US have established a political communication channel, but there is no communication channel between the militaries of the two countries.
