YEREVAN.- The opposition Armenian National Congress bloc will apply to the Constitutional Court demanding that the May 6 parliamentary elections results should be considered invalid.

ANC presented legal grounds for applying to the court. Chairman of Armenian National Movement board Aram Manukyan pointed at the following violations:

- President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister as well as heads of some villages participated in the campaign. According to ANC information, certain villagers were given bribes.

- Inaccuracy in voter lists, over 500 thousand people illegally included in the list.

- ANC would demand publication of voter lists

- The problem of stamps. Stamps put in voters’ passports disappeared in rush hour when nearly 400 thousand people have already voted. These passports were used in other precincts as well.

- Representatives of the parties were attacked and bribery cases were registered.   

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has issued the preliminary results of the May 6 parliamentary elections.

Five parties and one political bloc will be represented in the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia: Republican Party of Armenia – 44.05% (663,066 votes), Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.20% (454,684 votes), Armenian National Congress – 7.10% (106,910 votes), Heritage Party – 5.79% (87,095 votes), ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.73% (86, 296 votes), and Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.49% (82,690 votes).
