Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will leave for Iran Friday to attend the funeral of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Pashinyan himself announced this during a press briefing at the Armenian government Thursday.

"I will leave for Iran tomorrow to attend Ali Khamenei's funeral. There will be contacts with the Iran’s leadership," the Armenian premier said.

Ali Khamenei's farewell ceremony will take place from July 4 to 9.

Khamenei was killed on the first day of US-Israeli strikes on Iran, on February 28. After his death, his son, Mojtaba, became the new Supreme Leader of Iran.
