The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Ankara, Turkey, will be a critical test for the alliance, as anxieties about US military drawdowns and President Donald Trump’s frustration with allies over the war in Iran threaten to overshadow the official agenda, The Wall Street Journal reports.

At the same time, NATO representatives hope that the summit will enable them to demonstrate unity with the US and support for Ukraine.

The NATO summit in Ankara will be held on July 7-8.

Organizers of the summit in plan to hold only one three-hour session so that US President Donald Trump "doesn’t get bored" during the meeting, Politico reported, citing sources.
