Most U.S. citizens believe that Donald Trump’s military campaign against Iran did not justify the costs incurred and failed to deliver corresponding results, according to a poll conducted by Focaldata for the Financial Times.

According to the survey, 58% of registered American voters said the cost of the conflict was not justified by the goals achieved.

In addition, 44% of respondents believe that the military action worsened the U.S. position in relations with Iran, while 31% think that, on the contrary, it strengthened Washington’s influence.

A separate section of the poll focused on U.S. foreign policy priorities: 53% of respondents supported keeping the country in NATO, while 23% backed the idea of leaving the alliance.
