Dominique Rousselo, the mayor of the commune of Locmaria in northwestern France, died after an altercation with the owner of a pleasure boat in Le Palais. This was reported on July 5 by the newspaper Le Figaro, citing local law enforcement authorities.
“Gendarmes found the mayor ‘in cardiac arrest on the pier,’” the newspaper quoted the source as saying.
According to sources, the suspect was detained. No signs of beating were found on the mayor’s body, and the investigation is ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. Colleagues and residents expressed condolences to the family and noted Rousselo’s contribution.
